'When a man is tired of London he is tired of life' - Samuel Johnson, 1777

The London Underground is one of the great wonders of the world. For deep beneath the bookshops and Taverns of London; so steeped in the mist of history and the dust of ancient past, lies a hidden labrynth of tunnels colloquially known as 'The Tube'. The first train began service in 1863 as the Hammersmith & City Line. Next time you're in London do yourself a favour: purchase a one-day travel card and explore (for a tippance) the oldest underground network in the world; listen to the buskers that populate the busy stations, admire the futuristic chutzpah of the stations along the Jubilee Line, enjoy the street performers littering the cobbled lanes of Covent Garden and treat your eyes to the baroque facade of Paddington station.

But be warned:
Solo voyeurists especially beware, the tube monster stalks; in shadows it stirs.
Its fangs bloodied; with an ancient feud. Lost many men we have, in London's Tube.
